LIONS FALL TO LANCERS: The @jserra.girlsbasketball team suffered its second league defeat in a row, as the Lions were knocked off by the Orange Lutheran Lancers 65-58 in a Trinity League battle on Tuesday at Orange Lutheran High School.
The Lions are now 17-4 overall and 0-2 in league.
JSerra built a 15-point lead early in the second quarter, but the Lancers battled back with a 12-2 run in the final three minutes of the half to trim the deficit to 35-33 at halftime.
JSerra maintained a two-point lead heading into the fourth period before the two teams went down-to-wire in the final eight minutes.
A three-pointer by junior Shae Talleur and a basket and free throw by junior Vivian Grenald gave JSerra a 58-55 lead with 3:42 remaining.
But the Lancers held the Lions scoreless the rest of the way and scored 10 straight points to grab the victory.
Junior Kayla Rice led the Lions with 17 points, with Grenald adding 15 points.
Talleur connected on four three-pointers and finished with 14 points.
