LIONS WALLOP WINDWARD: The @jserra.girlsbasketball team got back into the victory column on Saturday, as the Lions rolled past Windward High School of Los Angeles 85-44 at the Coach Paul Westhead Mira Costa Classic at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach.
JSerra has now won nine of their last 10 games and improves to 17-3 on the season.
Junior Shae Talleur connected on three shots from behind the three-point line and scored all 10 of her points in the opening quarter to help stake the Lions to a 25-11 lead at the end of the first quarter.
JSerra continued to expand its lead in the second period, as junior Rosie Santos, sophomore Hannah Remick, and junior Vivian Grenald combined for 17 points to propel the Lions to a 46-22 halftime advantage.
Grenald and junior Kayla Rice each scored six points in a 16-2 run to open the third period to help the Lions to put the game away for good.
Grenald finished with a game-highs of 22 points, 14 rebounds, and six steals.
Rice tied Grenald for game-high scoring honors, scoring 22 points on 10-of-15 shooting.
Santos also recorded a double-double, as she made 9-of-14 from the field and finished with 19 points and a game-high 10 assists.
Remick was the fifth player to reach double-digits for the Lions, as she finished with 10 points.
