The @jserra.girlstennis team suffered its’ first defeat of the season on Thursday, as the Lions fell to the Mira Costa Mustangs 15-3 in a nonleague match at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach.

Senior Naomi Clarke and junior Ava Levitanus joined forces for a 6-3 in doubles action, while sophomore Emilija Mateljan and junior Milana Leffler teamed for a 6-3 win.

Sophomore Angela Li picked up a singles triumph by a score of 6-4.

The @jserra.girlsvb team fell to the Santa Margarita Eagles 23-25, 16-25, 16-25 in their Trinity League opener on Thursday at Santa Margarita Catholic High School.

Senior Makayla Ziegler led the Lions with 11 kills, while senior Layla Graham added seven kills.

Junior Cassie Bartholomew recorded three blocks, and junior Madison Goodrich tallied 14 digs.
