LIONS TAKE DOWN BRAVES IN TRINITY OPENER: The @jserraboyssoccer tteam began Trinity League action in winning fashion on Friday, as the Lions edged the St. John Bosco Braves 2-1 at St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower.
JSerra is now 3-1-1 overall on the season.
Junior Hudson Garner tallied a first half goal in the 22nd minute (assisted by junior Aquiles Rodriguez), as the Lions and Braves were deadlocked 1-1 at halftime.
With time winding down in regulation, Rodriguez notched the match-deciding goal in the 76th minute (assisted off a corner kick by senior Aidan Coltman) to give the Lions the win and extend their league undefeated streak to 19 straight dating back to the 2023-24 season.
JSerra will next be in action next Wednesday when they host Servite.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
Lions Boys Soccer Head Coach Erik Kirsch was pleased with the team’s ability to pull out the road triumph.
“This game was the first step in galvanizing the team and bringing them together to push through tough moments,” Kirsch said. “Hopefully we can continue this next week starting on Wednesday again.”
