FALCONS SLIP PAST LIONS: The @jserra.baseball team fell to the Aquinas Falcons by a score of 5-4 in a Southern Section Bracket quarterfinals game of the 2026 Boras Baseball Classic on Wednesday at JSerra Catholic High School.

JSerra scored the game’s first run in the bottom of the opening inning.

Senior Blake Bowen reached on an error and advanced to second base on a single to left field by junior Ayden Coleman.

Senior Brise Boop followed with a two-out, two-strike RBI single to left field to score Bowen.

The Falcons pushed across three runs in top of the second inning to grab the lead.

Coleman narrowed the deficit to 3-2 in the bottom of the second inning with a bases loaded walk to score junior Zac Veronda and then knotted the contest at 3-3 with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he connected on a soaring blast deep over the wall in left field for his fourth home run of the season.

But the Falcons pushed across the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning and then added a huge insurance tally in the top of the seventh inning to seize a 5-3 lead.

Bowen narrowed the deficit to a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, when he launched a towering solo homerun deep over the wall in left field, his team-leading fifth long ball of the season.

But the Falcons recorded the final two outs to seal their trip to the semifinals.

JSerra is now 7-10 overall and will continue tournament action on Thursday when they host Gahr High School of Cerritos.

First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

WARRIORS EDGE LIONS: The @jserralionslax Boys Lacrosse team kicked off its’ two-game nonleague swing in Colorado on Wednesday, as the Lions were defeated by the Arapahoe Warriors 9-8 at Littleton Public Stadium in Littleton, Colorado.

Trailing 6-1 at halftime, the Lions surged back in the second half and outscored the Warriors 7-3 before coming up one goal short.

Senior Gavin Goodrich recorded a hat trick with three goals for the Lions, while fellow senior Brady Ng added three assists along with a goal.

JSerra is now 8-4 on the season and will take on Dakota Ridge High School of Littleton on Friday, with the game scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. PST
