LIONS SPLIT ROAD DOUBLEHEADER: The @jserra.beachvolleyball team earned a split of nonleague doubleheader action on Wednesday at Manhattan Beach Pier in Manhattan Beach.
The Lions opened the day with a 5-0 defeat of the Huntington Beach Oilers.
Seniors Sara Moynihan and Emma Champagne posted wins of 21-15 and 21-15, seniors Skylar Noble and Presley Johnson earned victories of 21-19 and 21-17, sophomore Ava Champagne and junior Berit Brinkema notched wins of 21-12 and 21-17, senior Charlotte Nowak and junior Kaitlyn Dostert claimed triumphs of 21-7 and 21-16, and junior Sarah Thorp and junior Lyla Gerstenberger produced wins of 21-9 and 21-11 to fuel the sweep of the Oilers.
JSerra suffered its’ first defeat of the season in their second match, as the Lions were knocked off by the Mira Costa Mustangs 4-1.
Emma Champagne and Noble teamed up for a win of 21-19, 23-25, and 15-13.
The Lions are now 5-1 on the season.
