The JSerra Girls Beach Volleyball team took a successful first step in its’ postseason journey on Wednesday, as the Lions shutdown the Windward School of Los Angeles, 5-0, in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 playoffs at JSerra Catholic High School.

The Lions are now 16-1 overall and will be on the road against San Juan Hills on Tuesday in the quarterfinals round.

The Lions jumped ahead with victories by the tandems of senior Ruby Hill and junior Skylar Noble (21-14, 21-6) and junior Catherine Beadles and freshman Kara Boas (21-9, 21-8).

Juniors Sara Moynihan and Emma Champagne (21-9, 21-7), junior Presley Johnson and freshman Ava Champagne (21-14, 21-17), and sophomores Kajsa Jeffers and Kaitlyn Dostert (21-12, 21-17) closed out the shutout win for the Lions.
