LIONS COMPLETE TITLE THREE-PEAT AT CIF-SS DIVISIONAL FINALS
The JSerra Girls Track and Field team is once again the standard of excellence amongst its divisional peers, as the Lions claimed their third straight CIF-SS Division 3 title at the CIF-SS Divisional Finals at Moorpark High in Moorpark.
JSerra’s path toward the title was keyed by their collective efforts in the distances.
Senior Annie Elise Packard’s brilliant season in the 800m now includes a Division 3 title, as she took home victory in a time of 2:09.82, tops among all four divisions.
Junior Chloe Elbaz (2:14.38) and sophomore Reese Holley (2:14.44) edged into second and third respectively just before the finish line.
Freshman Kaia Streadbeck (2:16.27) placed sixth.
Holley led the Lions’ effort in the 1600m, as she placed second in a time of 4:55.19.
Elbaz (4:55.44) and Streadbeck (4:55.54) finished fourth and fifth respectively, with sophomore Hayden Kroger (5:10.61) placing eighth.
Kroger also earned a point in the 3200m race, capping the Lions’ 46 total points across three distance races.
Freshman Morgan Woolforde (47.08) was sixth in the 300m hurdles, while senior Sofia Fleming (16.51) placed eighth in the 100m hurdles.
The Lions took home the division’s top spot in the 4x400m relay for a third straight year.
The foursome of Morgan Woolforde, Packard, Maya Woolforde, and Elbaz navigated the baton across the finish line in a winning time of 3:50.08.
Sophomore Kai Beary finished second in the discus with a throw of 122 feet, 3 inches.
Junior Helena Reuter cleared 11 feet, 4 inches to place third in the pole vault, while sophomore Adi Rusin cleared 10 feet, 10 inches to place fourth.
The Lions accumulated 84 points, with Calabasas (59) finishing second.
