The history-making season turned in by the JSerra Boys Soccer team received another prestigious milestone award, as recently graduated standout Jake Tatch was named the 2024-2025 Gatorade California Boys Soccer Player of the Year.

Tatch becomes the first Lions player in the history of the Boys Soccer program to win the award.

The dynamic attacker tallied team-highs in both goals (23) and assists (15) this past season, as he helped guide the Lions to an undefeated record (20-0-1) and the Trinity League, CIF-SS Open Division, and CIF Southern California Regional titles.

Earlier this year, Tatch was named the Orange County Register’s Boys Soccer Player of the Year and a CIF-SS Open Division First Team selection.

In addition to his exploits on the pitch, Tatch has been a standout in the community.

He helped launch a clothing resale business which distributes clothes universally to people in need, and volunteers locally at retirement and assisted living facilities.

Tatch, who also carried a weighted GPA of 3.62, will attend and play soccer at the University of Michigan in the fall.
