ETHAN DAMATO NAMED NEW GIRLS WATER POLO HEAD COACH

The JSerra Athletic Administration is proud to welcome Ethan Damato as the new Girls Water Polo head coach at JSerra Catholic High School.
Coach Damato comes to JSerra Catholic High School as one of the most highly decorated coaches in Orange County history.
He spent 14 years as the girls’ water polo head coach at Laguna Beach High School, where he guided the program to over 350 victories, 18 regular season tournament victories, 13 league titles, six CIF Southern Section titles, and two CIF Southern California Regional Championships.
Damato also served as the Boys Water Polo head coach with the Breakers for 11 seasons, winning over 150 games, and three CIF-SS titles.
His tenure at Laguna Beach also saw three student-athletes go on to eventually become Olympians.
JSerra Athletic Director Chris Ledyard pointed to Damato’s impeccable coaching accomplishments and his demonstrated abilities to build strong culture and produce student-athletes that have excelled on the biggest stages of the sport.
“Coach Damato has proven himself to be a winning head coach at the highest levels and his coaching resume is an incredible testament to that fact,” Ledyard said.
“Equally as impressive is his proven track record of cultivating successful cultures for student-athletes and helping them realize their dreams of competing on both the collegiate and world competition stages.”
“We are thrilled to have Coach Damato working with our student-athletes and building a thriving girls water polo program now and into the future.”
