LIONS QUARTET RECEIVES COUNTY DISTINCTION
The JSerra Football team had a quartet of players that were recognized for their season-long efforts amongst their gridiron peers.
Senior linebacker Rocco Tompkins secured All-County Second Team honors by unleashing a historical season.
Tompkins was credited with 140 tackles this season, which set a new single season school record, including 10 tackles for loss.
He also recorded a fumble recovery and an interception.
Senior placekicker Noah Thayer also earned All-County Second Team distinction by putting his name into the school record books.
Thayer connected on 4-of-7 field goal attempts before injuries cut short his season, but set a new school record with a 55-yard field goal in the Lions’ 39-35 home victory over Leuzinger on September 19th.
He also connected on a 53-yarder against Damien High School on August 29th.
Senior offensive lineman Josh Haney was also selected to the All-County second team.
Junior wide receiver Clark Cokley was selected to the All-County Third Team.
Cokley produced 51 receptions for 694 yards and eight touchdowns this season, all team-high totals.
