LIONS SPLIT IN HEAD-TO-HEAD ACTION WITH LANCERS: The @jserra.swimmingdiving Boys and Girls teams battled the Orange Lutheran Lancers to a split in Trinity League action on Wednesday at JSerra Catholic High School.
JSerra easily outpaced the Lancers in the boys’ team competition by a score of 124-42.
Senior Connor Colman was a dual individual winner on the day, touching the wall first in the 200 Free (a CIF consideration time of 1:45.37) and the 100 Fly (55.49).
Colman, along with junior Heath Kitcher, sophomore Lars Knepper, and junior Joe Wraith swam to a CIF consideration time performance of 1:31.29 to win the 200 Free Relay.
Colman ended the day by joining forces with Wraith, sophomore Ronan Keane, and freshman Jonathan Hendy to win the 400 Free Relay in a CIF consideration time of 3:27.39.
(The Lions “B” team of junior Casey Cardenas, Kitcher, sophomore Andrew Schneider, freshman Reed Jonsson finished second in a CIF consideration time of 3:30.12.
Senior Nolan Baker was also a two-race individual winner, claiming victory in the 200IM (2:09.77) and the 100 Free (50.22).
Baker, Cardenas, Wraith, and senior Chase Clements swam cohesively to a triumph in the 200 Medley Relay in a CIF consideration time of 1:44.44.
Other individual winners included: Knepper (22.48) in the 50 Free, Keane (5:04.61) in the 500 Free, and Schneider (57.99) in the 100 Back.
Orange Lutheran pulled out a 94-76 victory over the Lions in the girls’ team competition.
A trio of Lions enjoyed victorious performances.
Senior Gabby Elbaz swam to victory in the 200 Free in a time of 2:04.81, freshman Skylar Shim turned in a first-place swim in the 200IM with a clocking of 2:23.70, and freshman Dani Ku touched the wall in first place in the 100 Back with a time of 1:09.67.
