Coach Jerri was born and raised in Bismarck, ND. Growing up, he was heavily involved in youth sports, playing baseball, football and wrestling. He had a passion for playing baseball and spent his summers traveling playing American Legion Baseball.

After high school, Coach Jerri enlisted in the Marine Corps. He is a decorated and retired Marine Corps Veteran. During his 22-year career he fought in Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. During his time on active duty, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from American Military University. Upon retiring from the Marine Corps, he worked as a government contractor, training deploying Marines and Units for combat operations in Afghanistan and counter terrorism actions worldwide. He is currently self-employed.

In 2011, Coach Jerri began coaching his children in travel baseball and softball. Working alongside former professional baseball players and coaches, he found a calling for coaching. He created his own Fastpitch organization, Desert Thunder, out of Indio, CA. Coach Jerri has sent most of his players on to college at every level of sport in his 8-year stint with his organization.

In 2018 he was hired as the head coach of Indio High School to establish a program. In his tenure with Indio High School, Coach Jerri managed 4 league titles, 2 undefeated seasons, 5 CIF appearances, 2 quarterfinals apperances, and 1 semifinals appearance. In 2023 he joined the Orange County Batbusters and currently aids Coach Mike Stith with his travel teams.

Coach Jerri and his wife, Stella, have a large, blended family of 6 children and 5 grandchildren. Coaching and youth sports are a family affair, and they both are heavily involved in youth programs.
