LIONS SHOW DOMINANCE IN ROAD WIN OVER ORANGE LUTHERAN
The JSerra Boys Soccer team passed its first road test of the season in highly convincing fashion on Wednesday, as the Lions smothered the Orange Lutheran Lancers 7-0 in a Trinity League match at Orange Lutheran High School.
JSerra is now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in league.
The Lions offense was in control of the match from the opening kickoff.
Senior Jake Tatch put the Lions on top 1-0 in the seventh minute, as he curled a long free kick from the left side that tucked into the near post corner of the goal.
The Lions increased the lead in the 13th minute, as sophomore Aquiles Rodriguez booted a well-angled crossing pass from senior Brody Martinez into the back of the net.
Tatch notched his second goal in the 28th minute, as he received a great crosser from Rodriguez down the left side of the field and beat the Lancers goalie with a shot to the near post corner of the goal.
Senior Gavin Allegaert matched Tatch for team-high goal scoring honors in the second half, as he scored goals in the 53rd and 62nd minutes respectively.
Junior Cameron Shafizadeh and senior Maverick McCaig put the final tallies of the match on the board for the Lions with goals in the 70th and 79th minutes respectively.
JSerra will be in action next on Friday night, when they play host to Mater Dei.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
